NEWS Sonoma, CA ~ The Sonoma Valley Arts Alliance presents the 22nd annual Sonoma Salute to the Arts Visual Arts Competition, Exhibit and Silent Auction.
A juried, two-and three-dimensional show opens August 3rd at 6 pm with a reception in the historic Sonoma Plaza, and continues through August 4th and 5th. A total of $3,500 in cash awards will go to the winners of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in both categories. Enter by sending one slide for $25, or up to three slides for $45. Jurors are Beth Goldberg, curator at the Falkirk Cultural Center in Marin County, Donna Seager, owner of The Donna Seager Gallery in San Rafael, and William Harsh, a painter, printmaker and teacher. Accepted artwork is unveiled, and the winners are announced Friday evening, August 3rd which launches the Salute Celebration; the opening night gala. This year's theme honors the art of food and wine as depicted in film, literature and the visual arts. An estimated 15,000 people will attend the Saturday and Sunday event in the Sonoma Plaza, August 3rd & 4th, where the artwork remains at auction until 4pm Sunday.
